So I go to the mailbox today...

and there was nothing there.  I decided to head out to exercise.

When I came back I was on the cell to my wife as I opened the mailbox and waaaaay in the back, at the bottom, under magazines, bills, late Easter cards, and the rest, I could see this logo:

So the next thing I said to my wife was something like, "Ohmygoshtheletter'shere!"  I came back into the house and she had the camera ready to go, and I tore the envelope open and

Goin' to Japan, baby!

Just a note: I did have the entire letter posted, but much of it was information that wasn't relevant to anyone but me, so I took it down and posted only what was important to everyone else: the fact I got accepted! Let's celebrate!

OMG!!! Congrats...I am GREEN with envy! Please tell me the details...was it in a legal sized envelope or a big cardboard envelope? Was it from Japan or Washington DC? I wonder if aplicants not accepted also get a letter...I've got millions of questions!

I go back to school tomorrow from Spring Break and it will kill me to not go home to check the mail (I live a couple of blocks away).

Good for you...I'll keep you posted for my status!

Hi Monica, it was a bluish-white legal sized envelope with the JFMF logo on the front, a Japanese return address, and a Japan postmark. There were two papers inside, one was the acceptance letter and the other was a form to be signed and faxed to DC.

I also wondered if I would get a letter if not accepted, and I checked the old emails from IIE and it said all applicats would be notified by the end of March.

Good luck and thanks for posting!
